What Arcana 20 means at different points of the self-discovery triangle
Arcana 20 keeps its theme of awakening, roots, intuition, and deep meaning, but its task changes according to the point of the self-discovery triangle where it appears.
01Vertex
First purpose and awakening to your own path
At the vertex, Arcana 20 shows the task of the self-discovery sphere: to hear the inner voice, honour one's roots, and turn deep understanding into a mature personal choice. In this method, the vertex is linked to the first purpose and the day of birth. A birth date from the 1st to the 9th of the month is read as the first attempt; from the 10th to the 19th, the second; from the 20th to the 29th, the third; and the 30th or 31st indicates the fourth attempt. The number of attempts deepens the task but does not change the meaning of Judgement. Read the vertex together with the other five points, considering how interest in history, sensitivity, questions about meaning, and the ability to see causes appeared in childhood and develop in adulthood.
02Two bases
Family patterns around memory, values, and judgement
In the self-discovery sphere, the left base relates to a programme inherited through the maternal line, while the right base relates to a programme inherited through the paternal line. At first, this may appear as a family habit of keeping silent, living through old grievances, obeying authority without question, or rejecting every connection with one's roots. When Arcana 20 appears here, the task is not to blame the family but to notice inherited rules and choose a personal relationship with memory, responsibility, and freedom.
03Inner triangle
Undeveloped depth and fear of hearing yourself
At the inner points, Arcana 20 shows qualities that are still emerging through their shadow side: intuition, insight, empathy, an interest in meaning, and the ability to bring people together. This may look like dependence on family approval, rigid judgement, guilt, fear of breaking away, or a habit of hiding one's opinion behind other people's rules. Here, the inverted triangle points to unrealised potential: through honest self-reflection, careful study of the past, and small independent decisions, Judgement helps turn inherited weight into mature support.
